Should you invite people to your wedding who didn't invite you to theirs?

Just a random question I felt like asking over here and on Facebook. No, I'm not getting married anytime soon.

So my parents went off to Bangladesh on Saturday. Fortunately they arrived there safe and sound, but they did get some harassment in New York. They were chosen to be randomly checked before boarding the plane and were also asked to report how much money they were carrying, but my dad apparently wrote down a lesser amount than the actual figure. Kind of weird he did that; not sure if he simply just estimated because he usually tries to comply with law enforcement as best as he can. He apologized as much as he could; they finally let them go but not before the guy threatened them that he could have canceled their flight. At least everything's fine now...

I've also started a workout routine of sorts now. I've always been bad at running, but I started to run/jog (with some walking in the middle) for about 2 miles each day (usually before lunchtime), and I also try to power-walk for a mile at night. Also trying to control my diet as well. I'd actually like to lose about 20 or so pounds...I really don't consider myself overweight, but it'd be nice to finally fit into some clothes better that I normally couldn't fit into before...I've lost a few pounds since I've started but it's getting a bit harder to go lower than that now.

In terms of career-related stuff, I'm seriously thinking about pursuing a PhD now. Obviously nothing happening on the job front and well, I don't really have any other strong commitments that take up much of my time. There's a doctorate program at UIC for Public Health, so that's right up my alley...hmmm...

Just posting this because I guess I haven't been posting at all lately. Well I haven't really been online in general either because I was pretty busy over the weekend. Still trying to figure out what I really need to do...like whether I need to pursue higher education or something. Just going to try applying and applying to jobs in the meantime I guess.

My brother and sister-in-law made a surprise visit yesterday. I had already known they were coming, but my parents didn't and most of my relatives still have yet to find out. They actually drove from Phoenix all the way to Chicago, without even stopping anywhere for the night. They'll be with us till August. Well my parents are leaving in less than a week for Bangladesh, but at least they won't have to worry about me staying all by myself in the house.

I may not be online too much for a while I think...not sure yet. But if you don't see me posting for a while, don't be surprised.

So about that interview that happened...okay well, it went alright I guess. The problem though is that apparently they...didn't have any openings. I-I mean...wtf. What I don't get either is that according to someone else I was talking to (and the one who pretty much set up this meeting in the first place) said that he was "definitely going to take [me]." So now he's going to try talking to the interviewer again and see what's actually going on.

Blah. I don't know why I keep getting into a dead-end like this. I was also apparently supposed to get calls two weeks ago from three different places. Not one of them tried contacting me.

Well I'm actually going to be out of town for the rest of the week, so I may not be on too much. I'll try to, but it depends on my schedule. There's so many LJs I need to comment to as well >.<

Seems like I have a job interview of sorts tomorrow...wish me luck! :D and also pray that these people actually pay their employees

So I was taking a look at the character relationship chart that was in the "All About Tales of the Abyss" booklet from Tales of Magazine Vol. 9 (thanks again to azuraveedragon  from talesoftheabyss  for the scans :D), and well, I noticed a couple interesting things...

Now, in the other relationship chart found in the Official Complete Guide, they show how Regret/Legretta had feelings for Van, but the arrow was only one-sided, meaning it wasn't mutual. Over here, however...



Like, ohh mee gawd. He actually likes her too. :o I'm still not sure if I'd actually support the pairing but I'd be lying if I said that didn't make for some juicy fanfic ideas.

And another thing I noticed was even weirder...



...Uhh. We all know that Luke is a replica of Asch, but...why is the arrow pointing the other way too? @_@ Maybe it could be a typo, but...c'mon, would they really make a mistake like that? D: I wonder if there's some kind of hidden meaning in it? I mean, I always thought Luke was able to physically surpass Asch by the end of the story...so does this pretty much confirm that Asch, despite being an original, is really not that superior physically (for lack of a better term) to Luke? <.< >.> Well I wouldn't have any trouble believing that, rofls. No idea why they put it like that though, really.

Seems like Asbel=Suzaku confirmed. XDD And I kinda expected the anime scenes in Vesperia would be redone, though it doesn't seem like they're changing much.

Help get the anime licensed!! Even if it's just a survey, maybe they'll take notice if a lot of people vote for it. :3

Though uhh, to be honest all I want really is the game cast returning and the chances may be slimmer if Funimation dubbed it, soooo...I hope someone like Bandai picks it up instead >.>

ABOUT DAMN TIME

So like, the Abyss manga is seriously starting to piss me off.

Well, for starters, the art isn't exactly the best to begin with, but that's not even what's bothering me...it's the fact that they are seriously taking a long ass time with it.

I didn't even realize exactly how, until I noticed the pacing of the last few chapters.

The sixth volume ended with the party leaving Sheridan to go down to the core (Chapter 33).

Then uhh, I'm not sure what happened in 34, though I'm assuming it was filled with the party emoing over what just happened, but they don't even reach the core until Chapter 35, where they also find out that Sync damaged the ship. Then I believe the party fought him during 36, and then 37 is when they see who Sync really is (mind you, I haven't seen the whole chapters from 34 to 37; I can only assume what's happened based on the preview pages they put up on Dengeki Maoh's site). But umm...

...DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE HOW LONG THIS IS TAKING?!?! DDD: PLEASE TELL ME IT DOESN'T TAKE FOUR WHOLE CHAPTERS TO COVER THE EVENTS OF THE TRIP TO THE CORE. *pulls hair out*

Seriously Ms. Abyss-manga-artist, but you started this thing in December of 2005. TWO THOUSAND FIVE. IT IS NOW THE MIDDLE OF TWO THOUSAND NINE. ABYSS IS SERIOUSLY NOT THAT LONG AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED. I have no idea if it's the artist's fault or whoever's in charge of the manga chapters' releases, but...seriously, people.

Not to mention...she's changed quite a few of the events. I don't mind taking your own liberties to write some of the story events, but here's a couple things that happened:

1) The first time Luke tries to control the passage rings, for whatever reason Natalia also helps him with it.
2) Instead of Anise's mom protecting Ion from Arietta's beasts, it's Natalia's wet nurse who protects Natalia.

...OH EMM GEE, I THINK WE KNOW WHO HER FAVORITE CHARACTER IS. (hikari318  probably doesn't mind though :p)

Though I have to say...her portrayal of Natalia seems a bit different as well. Not just her appearance, but she seems much more of a distressed damsel here than in the game/anime. >_> Can't really explain it though.

So apparently they have a chapter of the Radiant Mythology 2 manga online. You can check it out here, then go to the link where it says <第6話>.

I need a job. Like, I seriously need a job.

I'm in my mid-20s and sitting on my ass at home with a freaking Masters. Seriously I mean, how much sadder can one get?...

I don't really care at this point what kind of position I get hired for. I'm just so sick of feeling so handicapped from lack of funds. It's not just about buying stuff that I want...I really need to start paying off student loans and also bills for the house. And we're drowning in debt so much that I hesitate to buy even anything now. I've already canceled my membership to the fitness center I've been going to for the past few months now...just can't afford it anymore with the way things are going.

I want to work for at least enough money so that my mom doesn't have to work. She always comes home exhausted and she just doesn't have the energy that she used to have to work full-time hours. Though I feel like she'd still keep working even if I ever found something.

Everyone says it's the economy...but I feel like I'm the only one from everyone I know who's not doing something. And every time I see someone accomplish something like getting a job or graduating...I just sit here wondering what the hell went wrong. I'm sick of just applying and applying and always getting discouraged.

Though no new characters since we just got the news yesterday (Mao and Philia are definitely confirmed however), in this scan we can see that the characters will get to have different color schemes (check on the right near Luke's hi-ougi cut-in).



We're actually still trying to find out if one of the Luke models (second from right) actually has short hair instead of long :o
